Mission:

It was a fine afternoon in the Village Hidden in the Sand, and it was well on it's way to living up to it's reputation.  The sun hung high in the afternoon sky, glaring down over ocher sands with an intensity and heat that only the citizens of Sunagakure could enjoy.  Dunes spread out across the landscape into the distant horizon, though the walls of Suna were still within sight of the small oasis Saya had taken up camp in.  It wasn't a lake or a stream, indeed the water supply was below ground, but a small stand of mesquite trees and cacti were huddled together to take advantage of it.  Beneath the sparse shade of one of the tress the ANBU Captain was waiting for her student.

The desert was a test of it's own, a natural barrier that humans had to shift to extremes to adapt too.  Her hair was held back in a long and ragged pony tail to keep the white strands from clinging to the sweat on her face and shoulders.  Even the simplest of training exercises was amplified in difficulty and strain this time of day, and that was something Saya had counted on.  Nothing, in her mind, was more important than will, and tolerance.  The will to win had to overcome all adversity.  A warrior with no tolerance for suffering would fold the first moment true adversity struck.  This was one of the reasons she loved Suna so.  It was not the river laden land of mist where the sun was weak and temperatures cool.  This wasn't the old growth of Konoha's forests, filled with leaves and flowers and the bounty of nature as far as the eyes could see.  This wasn't even the craggy, mountainous expanse of Kumo, where cool breezes and wild edibles lay between cool shadows and bubbling springs.

This was Suna.  This was nature at it's most unforgiving, nature at its most hostile.  Beyond the sparse shade of the small oasis there was no life.  Even bugs knew better than to show themselves when the sun was mid-sky, even the lizards and snakes had retreated beneath the sand or rocks for escape.  Saya, however, simply sat there with a half smile on her face.  She was tougher than the rocks, and more stubborn than the relentless sun.  Even if she were uncomfortable, she would never show it, she would never admit to it.  She couldn't show such weakness in the face of an imagined enemy such as nature.  She simply had to persevere.

The hot desert wind was still blowing, scattering grains of sand around her feet.  She had read over the young boy's file already, and had found some common ground between them.  It was not their penchant for genjutsu, not their dual natures, but it was something else, something from his past that struck a chord.  Saya wouldn't speak of it, of course, she was only here to be his instructor.  Of course, from her appearance she didn't seem prepared to take that seriously.

Saya was lacking equipment.  She had none of her weapons, none of her armor, she had only a blanket, a large umbrella, and some wine.  She had no intention of needing those things today, it was not as though the boy had any expressed interest in learning her weapon arts.  Today, instead, would be a first meeting, some time to spend with new students, and get the wrong idea across.  She was as scantily clad as ever, the top she was wearing hanging off of her like it was a size to wide, always requiring a tug or pull to keep it from sliding off her shoulders.  Her skirt was similar, hanging low on her hips and in constant danger of simply sliding right off of her.  If not for her obi, and the belt pouch attached too it, it may have done so long ago.  Thankfully she rarely left home for even formal affairs without her basic tools at hand.

Her bare feet were half burried in the hot sand, toes wiggling beneath the surface as she watched the horizon.  She had said to meet at noon, when the sun was highest and hottest, because it made for a good meeting time and a good test of the child's tollerance to both suffering, and the intensity of the Suna sun.  It was not affecting her at all, though she did have a fine sheen of sweat glistening on the exposed upper portion of her chest and her legs.  The chilled wine she had brought had already gotten warm, but she was still drinking it none the less.  It had a bitter taste she had come love.  It was not the traditional rice wines so many towns had in stock, but an imported grape wine with a thick purple color.  The tannins in it made it bitter and tart, a drink that abused the tongues of those unused to the rich and potent flavor.  Saya had seen mastering the drink as simply another challenge in life.

She always leapt at challenges.  For her lack of social grace and sophistication, Saya was still well know through out the sand for her courage.  She was fearless, throwing herself into battle at the drop of a hat if Suna's health, safety, or honor were on the line.  Few questioned her place in the ANBU, for the body count she already had beneath her was staggering.  She was known to be brutal and efficient, to be fight with a stoic zeal few others matched; but also she was known to drink.  She was a favorite in the taverns and pubs, singing and dancing, throwing her curves around with no sense of shame while others drank with her, and joined her in the merriment.  This child she was waiting for, however, may not have known any of that.  With a sip of her wine Saya smirks, thinking how sad it is to be too young to indulge.

The sun was indeed brutal on this day within the Land of Wind, boiling the weak from the inside as their tiny bodies can't support such amounts of heat, which was apparent as Hisoka looked down onto the ground, watching the dead and slowly dying insects try to escape to a cooler shade. There was no hope though, as the only shade anywhere nearby would be his destination as he was already halfway between the village's walls and the so called oasis his newly assigned teacher had sent him to. His own body having a layer of sweat on his skin which allowed for him to cool down a bit with each passing breeze, something he very much liked as a child who grew up on one of the Kumogakure mountains. "This is.. Gonna be disappointing." He would think to himself as he knew nothing of the teacher he had been assigned to. If he were to speak that thought, disinterest would be clearly heard within his tone, so.. low in enthusiasm. "Hmm.. This could indeed be disappointing Hisoka. If anything you'll probably learn to throw a kunai with better accuracy, but don't worry.. You need it, your weaponry could use some.. Improvement.. I'm sorry.." Petti spoke from within the confines of Hisoka's mind, as always his tone of voice a caring, slow yet pity-filled one.

"Hmph." A single sound he would make, the real Hisoka, which could be heard by those within his close vicinity, about a meter from him to be exact before the sound would fade from prying ears. He was close to his destination now, in fact he was about 29 meters from the female who sat beneath the shade of one of the trees. There was much more to the low sounding noise he had made, much more. The woman still sat beneath the tree, enjoying her wine which Hisoka assumed to have already been warmed by the sun's wrath. "Good morning, miss. I take it you're my teacher now? What happened to Mr. Plaahya? Did he die? I wouldn't be surprised.. He had little skill." The boy's projection would walk from behind the tree the woman had sat beneath, speaking with the same nonchalant tone as always, whilst his real body would still be approaching her from in front of her in clear sight, his hands tucked into his cloak's pockets. Yes, he wore a light colored cloak with the hood covering his own face. Beneath the cloak was his slightly baggy white, long-sleeved shirt which covered most of his upper body except for his neck and hands. If the woman's eyes were to move down from his chest, she would notice his light grey pants, also slightly baggy as it matched with his shirt. The sun was brutal on his own skin, or so he merely assumed as the heat was something new the moment he stepped into the Land of Wind those few years ago, ever since he had been wearing full body clothing.. Except for his feet. His feet held no more sensation within them, so he couldn't tell that the sun was merely hot on it's own though not deadly or overtly hot once it hit his feet's skin. His pale, unhealthy looking body would start to walk slower once he got closer to the woman, standing next to his projection which shared the same attire as himself.

"My name's Hisoka, but you already know that don't you? The village likes to keep tabs on their personnel, even on us measly genin. But I too know secrets, such as the taste of alcohol on your lips being no new thing to you. Just don't end up like Mr. Plaahya, I'd hate to loose another sensei to the likes of a bottle taking over their ability to fight, but you're better than that right? I'm sure." Throughout his little introduction the projection had spoken with his nonchalant tone of voice, but as he neared the end it would become apparent that his tone had taken a turn towards sarcasm. Whether it was him doubting her ability or him trying to break the ice, would remain a mystery to the woman as she could only take a guess, but it was indeed the former. To him, how could a drunk survive so long? To make matters worse, she was in the ANBU corpse. Though that was the very peak of the information he could gather on her during the last 24 hours of him being notified of his new teacher. He spent most of the night doing his research, spying on the higher ups. This was no new thing to him, he's been doing this for a few years ever since he had moved to Sunagakure, so it would come as no surprise to those who "truly" knew Hisoka, the fact that he knew who the woman was, the fact that she was a drunk and finally the fact that she was within the ANBU corpse was easy for him to find out as he probed the minds of a few higher ups during the night, without their knowledge of course. This was probably the only thing he could hide from the village's claws, the fact that his genjutsu was much more potent than they thought, so much so that their best shinobi would succumb to it without their knowledge.

Saya perks only slightly as the boy appears off in the shimmering horizon.  It'd been a good walk, and the first of her tests.  Those who couldn't make it this far had no business as shinobi, but as she'd expected he arrived more or less on time, and without complaint.  She adjusts herself slightly, tugging her top higher on her shoulder and sitting up as he approaches.  She lifts her glass in salute, and offers the boy a friendly enough smile.  For their first meeting she didn't seem to be presenting too many formalities, but not because she was lax on her job.  Wine or not, very little slipped past her sight.

Her head tips aside as she listens to him start the small talk, her smile shrinking for a smirk, then a lopsided grin as he mentions her 'secrets'.  “If that is the quality of secrets you can dig up, I am not sure you are in the right line of work.  Who did you speak with to find out such information?  Was their name Anybody?  Brother of Everyone, noble son of random strangers through wonderful Sunagakure?  She ends her comment with a soft laugh, and a gentle wave of the hand holding her wine glass.  Come and sit, no need to be so formal.

My name is Saru Saya, but I am sure you know that as well.  You may call me Sensei.  It will be my job to discover your potential, help you hone any skills you have to a dangerous edge, and then petition the Kazekage to allow you to use them for the betterment of all the citizens of Suna.  While you seem to have done your homework and at least asked around about me, you seem to only know my habits.  My routine, as it were.  She smiles softly, motioning for him to sit down in front of her.

What you say is true enough, I tend to laugh as much as I smile, and dance as much as a sing.  But what good will this information serve you, mmm?  Just how would you use such intel to gain the advantage over me?

Her blanket had been laid out in the shade of a desert palm, one of the trees supping from the underground reservoir of water.  Though its shade was spotty and mottled it still gave a small respite from the overbearing sun above.  Even for Sunagakure's best, the desert was a challenge as great as any castle wall.  It could be overcome, but not without pause, or notice.  There was a skin of water, a bottle wrapped in leather born with strap and cap still in place.  A small plate of cherry tomatoes and grapes lay beside it.  There were a few of the pieces of fruit already missing, consumed by Saya, but others still waited to be taken.wc: 477

At first he though she was serious as he raised his right eyebrow at her when she questioned his authenticity on what he had said as well as his sources, though it would soon fade as her grind turned to a soft laugh with a gentle motion of her wine glass, showing him that she was merely playing with him. "Is she serious? Or just trying to play me.." He thought to himself, the young Hisoka with no last name taking into account all the factors of her first few words to him. Though her friendliness would soon be backed up with her inviting him to join her as she sat on the hot desert sand, speaking about formalities and such. "I guess, it has been quite the tempered walk up until now.." The projection spoke once again in substitute of the boy himself as he started to approach the woman before taking a seat next to her. The projection remained standing before her, a few feet away from her as to provide enough personal space and avoid the invasion of said personal space, though not to far as to give off the feeling of distrust. Hisoka himself sat about five feet from the woman, reflecting upon the projection's standpoint as to avoid invading her personal space yet at he same time showing no distrust towards the woman. Whether he truly trusted her on the other hand was a whole different thing, he had no reason just yet to trust the woman completely, however she was one of the most respected woman in Sunagakure's hierarchy, as he gathered last night, so there was no real reason not to trust her either.

He then allowed her to further speak as he kept quiet and listened to his new teacher, here and there giving a nod as he showed that he was indeed listening to her, such as the point where she mentioned him already knowing her name. It did peek his interest when she mentioned the Kazekage petition to allow his skills to be used for the betterment of Sunagakure. It meant that he could do his probing, spying and information gathering without getting into any trouble, oh how he hated trouble.. It was perfect. "Yes sensei." The projection would say again as she motioned for him to sit in front of her, to which he would stand up from his current position and move to sit about five feet again from her, only this time located in front of Saya unlike the previous position he sat at; to her left. He then further listened to her speak, taking into account that her reasoning was beyond any average minded person's. "Hmm..." A noise within his head which remained unheard by Hisoka until now. "What.. The.. What was that.." His own voice echoing throughout his mind. "I.. I don't know.." The sobs would reply to Hisoka as Sadniss spoke from within the confines of the young boy's mind. "It feels so.." Petti would speak up, though only Hisoka being able to hear the two voices, before it was interrupted by Hisoka himself. "Dark.." He finished Petti's sentence before he could even have the chance to do so himself. "Can you quit your whining? Your sensei is speaking to you!" Of course, one could not have a mental party involving Petti and Sadniss without Rhage having to join in. "Maybe your name should have been Jellousi, eh Rhage? Always having to get involved if the two of them are." Hisoka would say to his companions before brushing the dark feeling off as no apparent danger seemed to be nearby. These words spoken by Sadniss, Petti and Rhage as well as the dark voice could not be heard by anyone who wasn't inside Hisoka's mind, though this also meant Hisoka's replies to them remained silent outside his body.

"Of course, I shall explain to you. You see, I was only provided with enough time to gain these small amounts of information on you. You do realize you're a hard subject to find information on, correct? I mean, being in the ANBU is already enough reason to seal your records, which I'm sure they've already done. I had to resort to.. Other methods of finding information on you. Granted, it's not much, but I still see it as a feat for a genin to find such personal information on an ANBU Corpse member in a short few hours' time." He got a bit more relaxed as the projection spoke up once more in representation of Hisoka, his hands behind him as he laid backwards a few degrees whilst his arms kept his back from touching the hot desert sand. "Enough of that though, we're both capable shinobi considering our ranks. Let's get down to business?" The projection would then rush the meeting as Hisoka wanted it to, both his body language and the projection's indicating unease and agitation, accompanied and complimented by the feeling of impatience.

Saya swirls her cup for a moment, the rich purple liquid inside sloshing inside quietly.  The action broke up the particles and added air, enriching and separating every flavor contained within.  She brings the glass to her nose, smells it softly then takes a small sip.  She watches Hisoka as she does, ever curious of this odd boys habits.  He had a manner about him, like he wasn't all there.  She watched the subtle shift of muscles in his face, the minute twitches beside his lips and eyes, the unconscious actions of a mind hard at work.  It was curious, something she couldn't account for.  Perhaps, her mind pondered, it was simply upkeep of present jutsu.  Perhaps it was the creation of a new one.  Perhaps he was simply nervous, and didn't much care for time spent with strangers.   After letting the wine linger on her tongue for a moment she swallows it.

She sets the cut aside and leans forward some.  Her fingers fish through her pouch for a moment as she speaks. I am impressed that you took the initiative to learn more about those you were sent to meet.  Nothing you said is incorrect.  I am in the ANBU corp, I am known to linger long amid the smokey confines of almost any and every night time watering hole in our village..  and I am quite known to indulge in my drinks.  But this information you've gathered is simply the surface.  Let this be the first lesson between us.  Our ninja tools...  Her words trail off as her hand returns from her pouch with a small paper wrapped pellet held between her fingers.  It was a smoke bomb.

Do you know what this is?she asks, rhetorically.  That's right, it is a smoke bomb, a tool we use to mask ourselves when we don't wish our actions to be seen.  It is one of the simplest, one of the most basic tools we shinobi have at our disposal.  All it does is create a smoke screen, and yet there are a dozen ways to use it.  To make our escape, to hide a jutsu, to divert the enemies attention, and force them to look where we wish them too.  With it we protect ourselves, but with it we also lead our targets into fatal traps.  It, like all things in life, is a tool of control.

With a small flick of her wrist she tosses the smoke bomb to Hisoka, not allowing it to burst.  She picks her wine back up and continues.

This information that you found, it is no different.  Our lives, our words, our very histories..  The stories told that leak from lips and reach the ears of others are no less a tool than the steel of a kunai, or the powder contained within smoke bombs.  Those who are smart will always build a smoke screen.  A false wall upon which the expectations of others may lie.  They will formulate their plans with what information they gather.. so those who control the information, also control the very plans that would be used against them.

So now tell me.. hearing this from me.  Is what you learned nothing more than a smoke screen?  Are these but false weaknesses I present before myself, to let the world think they understand me... she trails off again, and smiles some.  She draws another small sip of her wine.

She studies him once more, her eyes not so much judgmental as scrutinizing.  She was looking past him, looking past his simple words and watching for signs of weakness, signs always present in those with a lack of experience.  Body language was a difficult thing to control, and each person had their tells.  In time she would figure Hisoka's out, but for now he was still a mystery.  What she had learned about him was irellevant.  History, in her eyes, meant nothing.  History was a place to be grown from, but it was never enough to paint a full story.  She was always more interested in the future.  After she swallows her wine she finished her question, and smiles sweetly once more at her young student.

Or are they simply the rambling lies of a drunk caught in a corner?

"Of course." He thinks to himself as she prsented the smoke bomb before him, though not voicing this thought as it was a mere rhetorical question. As she spoke and explained with what seemed to be passion about what the smoke bomb was and what it meant to shinobi, his hands would dig into the sand as they escaped his cloak's sleeves. The warm grains flowing between his fingers as he did so, washing over his soft hands, almost acting as a comfort for the boy. This sand would then be sent into the air as his hand rose from beneath the grains of sand in order to catch the smokebomb, the light reflecting off of the grains of sand creating the illusion of small sparkles within the air. His right hand, which was now holding the smokebomb, would be held still before his face as he inspected the tool for himself, though his ears remained vigilant as he paid further attention to his new teacher.

"Shhh..." The voice echoing throughout his mind once more. "There it is again..." He thought to himself though the projection remained silent as did he in regards to physically speaking. This time around Hisoka wasn't as nonchalant, but instead the concern within his mind was clear. His facial expression would give off a very slight indication of concern, as well as confusion, though one would have to pay close attention to notice. "Oh my.. What is wrong with you, it must be so horrible.. All of these voices.. So young.." Petti made itself known once more within Hisoka's mind, exclaiming his pity for the young boy, himself. "I must admit, Saru Saya sensei, your alcohol doesn't seem to affect your judgment nor your intellect." Hisoka would speak through the projection in order for his new teacher to be able to hear him as soon as she had stopped speaking, however it was more due to the fact that he wanted to stray his attention away from whatever was happening within his own mind, it also helped him get a better understanding of what kind of shinobi she was as his own statement would allow her to speak further. "You're playing her, that's not nice.. Using the poor lady to gain a clearer impression of what the corpse is comprised of." Petti questioned Hisoka, though only those within Hisoka's mind could hear him. "Of course I am." He replied in silent to Petti. "I don't see it as the ramblings of a drunk. It sounds more like the expression of a perfect observer, who knows what she's talking about though some don't fully understand the potential of. I guess what I'm trying to say, Sensei, is that you have a brilliant mind. Finding such use, such marvelous explanation on a simple thing such as a smokebomb, are the signs of brilliance." He gave his best to try and hide any signs of him playing her, lying to her and sweet talking. After a few years of lying to higher ups it has become like second nature to him to hide the usual giveaways, and most unusual giveaways with little effort in order to maintain the ploy to gain more information.

"What if she catches you? Aren't you afraid?! I don't want to die.. Buried beneath this hot sand with my head poking out above ground for the vultures to come and eat my eyes out!" Sadniss spoke within Hisoka's mind as tears ran down his face, as if he truly believed that she would kill Hisoka if she found out that he was fishing for information. Even if it was just the small information such as what type of person she was, sometime down the line it would become useful to his own mind to use against her, if need be. After-all, such was the teachings he just received. "If you'd shut up, maybe we wouldn't get caught." He would think to himself for Sadniss to hear, whilst physically giving off a slight smile as to cover his own internal affairs from the prying eyes of Saru Saya.

Saya watches Hisoka as he speaks, then lets a moment of silence linger between them after he's done.  The silence, at least, would remain on her side while he continued to converse with himself mentally.  He was certainly an odd child, but he didn't seem hopeless.  Finally she takes a last small sip of her wine, then flicks her wrist gently to the left.  The remaining contents of her glass are splashed to the ground, the parched desert sand drinking it up quickly, barely even leaving a wet spot behind.  The glass is deposited next to her, left atop the blanket but otherwise forgotten for now.

Without much warning, or even provocation, Saya sets into careful action.  She rolls backwards easily enough, her legs tucking in momentarily beneath her as they begin to point skywards.  Before she can finish the roll, however, she plants her hands firmly on the desert sands, and pushes with her arms.  She rises gracefully into a hand stand, the loose silks of her outfit succumbing to gravity and threatening to simply fall off of her.  Somehow, however, the great gods of modesty seem to prevent anything embarrassing from happening, and the generous curves she was blessed with remain just covered.  She lifts an arm to show off balance in spite of the drinks, then handsprings from a stand still backwards and onto her feet.

It all seemed easy enough for her, minor taijutsu practice enough to give her body strength.  Acrobatics were a mainstay of most shinobi who wished to have any talent at evasion, and Saya certainly had that.  She dusts herself off once she's on her feet, and readjusts her outfit to better cover her body.  Well, enough of that.  Talking is fun and all, but what's say we get down to business, mmm?

I need to assess where your skill level presently lies, so I want you to get your kunai out.  You're going to attack me with it.. and before you get worried, it's okay.  You're going to fail.

She gives him a lopsided smile, one filled with arrogance and condescension.  Truly she wasn't as bad as the sentence and smile would seem, but she was trying to push his buttons.  She wanted him to attack, and was happy to provide him with at least a little motivation.  She reaches behind her as she does and slips a finger through the ring of a kunai in her pouch.  She pulls it out, gives it a little twirl, then grips it easily in her right hand.

Goodness, they're letting students out without weapons now?  Tsk tsk, what has the economy come too that we can't afford to equip our future.  Tell you what, take mine.  Saya flicks her wrist easily, sending the kunai flying point first right at Hisoka.  It was aimed for his shoulder, so should be prove inept at evasion it wouldn't deal any lasting, or serious damage, but it was thrown slow enough for a genin to catch, or simply avoid.  She doesn't rearm herself just yet, and instead gives Hisoka a moment to attack while she is disarmed.

It seems as if his attempt at getting more information out of Saya wasn't going completely according to plan, however information came in all forms, shapes and sizes. He noticed her acrobatic skills with ease as she didn't care to keep it to herself with her one handed handstand as she used it to lift herself from the ground. "You might intend to avoid any verbal information from being gained, Ms. Saya, but you've already made your first mistake. An acrobat, good for evasion, though requires some speed as well if she wants to use it effectively in battle. I doubt she's slow." Hisoka would voice himself within the confines of his own mind as he thought to himself. "Cocky as well, assuming I'll automatically fail. Though she's probably right, from what I've gathered so far her speed should easily outmatch mine." Another thought he conjured up within the confines of his mind. "I don't have a kunai." The projection would speak up as Hisoka pushed himself from the ground in order to stand.

"She's probably going to give you that kunai in her hand.." Sadniss would voice itself to Hisoka and the others within his own mind. "Oh no... This is gonna be painful.. It would be wise to brace yourself, Sadniss. I'm sorry.." The voice of Petti then ran through Hisoka's mind as the kunai was sent flying towards Hisoka. The boy could catch the kunai or simply avoid it with a swift movement to the side, though he chose not to. Instead Hisoka stood still for a brief moment before moving to catch the kunai. It proved to be useless as his purposely delayed reaction allowed the kunai to dig into his skin, though it didn't stop there as it only started to slow down a it further dug into his flesh. The young Hisoka screamed in pain, a scream filled with agonizing pain as the kunai dug into his body, it wasn't long before a tear would start to flow from his right eye. As much as he seemingly wanted to hold back the tear, which was the impression he gave off, the tear would start to flow down his cheek. "Hmph.." "Eeeek! There it is again Petti! Why now?! After he just deliberately took a kunai to the shoulder?! And all that just to keep her from gaining information on his ability!" Sadniss cried out, of course only Hisoka and mental company could hear him as it occurred within Hisoka's mind. "That hurt you know!!! What if you had killed me?!" The projection would yell out in anger, trying to play on her emotions as Hisoka fell to the ground, his knees bent as they touched his chest with his left arm wrapped around them in a fetal position.

Saya's head tips a little to the side as the knife strikes home. It was a simple attack, anyone could have dodged it, except for him apparently. She does not seem immediately sympathetic, and as time ticks by it only gets worse. Instead of a frown of apology or regret, a little smirk curls her lips slightly upwards. She shakes her head some, even while pulling another kunai from her belt pouch.

What if? she asks with mild amusement in her voice. The day is not over yet, dear child. Now stop being so dramatic, and get to your feet. The sooner we finish the sooner you will be able to get a bandage to cover that scratch. I suppose if you prefer I could attack you while you lie there crying. Take advantage of this moment of weakness, mmm? Or perhaps you are trying to lure me into a trap?

Saya crouches slightly where she's standing, hunching slightly forward and holding her kunai up in front of her. It was sharp, its steel gleaming in the afternoon sun. The world was a brutal place, death always a knife's edge away. No compassion was being hidden, she simply did not feel bad for what had happened. In her mind, it was his own fault for standing there, frozen in the face of danger. She readies her kunai and leans a little more forward, as though she might strike at any moment.

Get up and move, Hisoka. You are in danger. Her voice is soft as she speaks, but there is a deadly edge to her words. She is not masking them, not using innuendo or threats. She meant them, and she was very seriously. A moment later she squeezes her Kunai and launches herself into an assault. Her attack is not direct, instead with a blinding burst of speed Saya moves in a fast curving charge. It would end up with her appearing the moment she'd started moving beside the prone form of the genin.

She didn't want to make it unfair, there was a pause before she moved, and another as she landed beside him, but one only long enough to lift the kunai and point the blade down at him. If he did not react, if he didn't protect himself, the downwards thrust would see the kunai's ringed, dull end thrust down quite firmly into his stomach. It'd be strong enough hurt, but such a blow shouldn't prove fatal.
