Stop the rebels

It was another rainy day in Kirigakure. Zenkichi was in his room, reading and praying to Lord Jashin when suddenly he received a knock on the door. Finishing the final lines of his prayer, he blew the candle off and kept the bible. He then walked to the door, unlocked it and saw Yuki at the door. "Uhm, Zen? There's a shinobi out there waiting for you. He said it's urgent" Sighing, Zenkichi told Yuki, "Aight, tell him I'll be there in a jiffy."

Zenkichi then shut the door and let another sigh escape. It was a rainy day, and Zenkichi was already planning to rest. This week was really taxing on his body, as he had been in consecutive missions, each requiring him to either use complicated moves, or just pure strength which hurt his muscles. He would've liked to have a rest day, but duty calls. He had been recently given lots of mission request directly from the boards due to his reputation of being able to complete many tricky and complicated missions with little trouble. He had managed to complete the missions swiftly, even against unfavorable conditions such as a 4v1.

Changing into his shinobi gear, he then put on his black cloak and placed the hoodie on, covering his hair and upper head. Putting on his Gloves of Destruction, he then stretched his fingers by stretching them, clenching them, and stretching them again. This new gauntlet he bought from the ryo he earnt from his mission will finally go through its first mission. Hopefully they're both compatible with each other.

Walking out of his room, he went down the stairs and could see a shinobi waiting for him. The shinobi was already sitting on the chair, reading some folders. Catching sight of Zenkichi, the man stood up, and stretched his hands out. Zenkichi grabbed his hands and shook it, "Hello, Zenkichi. As you have guessed, we need you for a mission. A new group of bandits have been attacking our villages and houses a lot. Unlike the Black Fingers, they are not only skilled; they are also vast in numbers. 15 of them was spotted. We need you to help defeat and capture them. Obviously, you're not gonna do it alone. We've allocated someone as your partner. He'll be meeting up with you at the city gates. He's better informed. Here's the scroll. I got to go now."

After briefing him, the shinobi executed a jutsu and poofed into the air. Zenkichi took the scroll, hid it in his cloak and started making his way towards the city gates. As usual, he jumped up to the roofs and started speeding off. It was raining, although it's slowly subsiding, therefore Zenkichi had to carefully run across the wet roof. One tiny mistake and he would've slipped off. Upon aproaching the gates, Zenkichi jumped off the roof and slowly walked to the gates, waiting for his new partner. He didn't know who it was, but he's hoping this new person is someone he can trust, and someone who is strong.

Another rainy day it was in the village hidden in the mist. Dray had woken up quite early in the morning and today he did not need the help of his alarm to do so. The last time he relied on his bed side alarm, he ended up smashing both the alarm and the bed side drawer that it rested on. He was up earlier this morning and he had undergone his meditation session to calm his nerves and help him think well through the day. He did not take his bath too quickly since he had no real plans for the day except duty called. Dray walked out of his room and into the sitting room. His parents had not gotten out of bed yet or perhaps they had woken up but had not come into the sitting room yet. He sat on the couch as he looked at the white ceiling. His mind was engulfed in the void of the moment as e heard a knock. He did not pay any attention at first because there was more than one possible reason as to why he heard that sound. A bird was probably pecking on the roof, someone was knocking or maybe some other thing was happening. It was raining so the sound did not stand out too much. He heard it again as he snapped out of where his mind was. He got up from the couch and walked to the door if check if it was actually a person that had been knocking. He opened the door to meet somebody covered in a black cloak. The person lowered the hood and the kirigakure no sato head band on his fore head immediately identified him as a shinobi of the mist. “Mission for you Dray. A group of bandits have arrived and it is better to weed them out at their tender stage than when they are fully matured. You will be accompanied by another shinobi of the mist on your mission. Meet him at the village gates and carry out the mission together. This scroll contains any detail requiring the mission.” The man concluded as he handed Dray a scroll. As Dray received this, the man melted into a water puddle that did not surprise Dray at all. Such was the life of shinobi, one of expectations.

Dray walked back to his room with the scroll in his hand. He pulled his clothes and walked into the bath room to have his bath and then brush his teeth. He did not take too long because there was a probability that whoever he was taking this mission with was already at the village gates but he made sure that he was clean. He proceeded to put on some clothes as he wore his black pants first and then a black inner wear that had long sleeves after which he put on a blue fitted kimono. He strapped a black belt to his waist and attached his ninja pouch to it. For convenience in battle, most of his weapons and items had been stored in a tattoo seal on his left palm but then things don’t always go as expected. Dray put on his shinobi sandals as he walked out of his room. He wondered why his parents were not out of the room yet and he decided to check real quick. He opened their door quietly and saw them still sound asleep. He walked back to the sitting room and left them a note saying that he was gone on a mission and that he would be back soon. The rain had reduced as he walked out of his home and headed towards the village gates at half his top speed. He was careful not to slip or make splashes on anyone. As he made his way to the gates, the rain came to a complete halt but then the skies were still gloomy and there was cold in the atmosphere. He got to the village gates and met another that was covered in a black cloak.. His current personality was the one of unpredictability. He was neither happy nor sad, calm or angry. He was just empty and this personality seems to be the worst on his personality die because it could easily be influenced by anything. He approached the man calmly not startling him at all.. “Here for the bandit mission?” Dray would ask and wait for his reply hoping they could begin the mission soon. They could explain better pleasantries later if it was necessary.

As he waited under the shelter, Zenkichi started fiddling with the necklace he had. It belonged to his first love, Yui. He and Yui promised to travel around the world, but due to the wickedness of this earth, Yui passed on before they could realize this dream. And Zenkichi's only keepsake of hers is this necklace. As he continued drowning himself in the days of bliss he used to enjoy with her, Zenkichi heared a voice. "Here for the bandit mission?". Turning his head to the direction of the voice, Zenkichi caught sight of a boy. This boy looked around his age. For a guy his age to be sent to such a dangerous mission seems fishy, and Zenkichi could deduce one thing; this boy is as powerful, or even stronger than Zenkichi. Looking at the ninja, he replied, "Yea, so you're my partner right? Nice to meet you. My name's Zenkichi. What about you?" As he finished this sentence, he extended his hand, offering a hand shake. Plus, as a Taijutsu Master, Zenkichi can kinda gauge roughly the capability of the kid, as people who tend to use strong jutsu and moves have tenser hand muscles than normal civilians.

After the short introduction, Zenkichi then continued, "Well, enough with the formalities. Let's head off. We can talk while we walk. Plus, we should take advantage of the rain; it reduces the enemy's sight, and helps shroud our presence." Zenkichi usually trains in the rain, therefore this would be pretty advantageous for him. Plus, with the rain slowly getting heavier once more, it would help wash away tracks left by him, and also reduce the sense of hearing due to heavy downpour. This would make ambushes advantageous, since their shouts and moans will be for naught. Zenkichi then started walking through the main path. The map was engraved into his head when he read the scroll previously.

The hooded person turned in Dray’s direction as he heard the question that Dray had asked. As the person turned, he seemed to be sizing up and by the looks of it, he should not really be older than Dray was. Probably a year or two older at most after all Dray was approximately fifteen years of age and a chunin too. “Yea, so you’re my partner right? Nice to meet you. My name’s Zenkichi. What about you?” the boy said while extending his hand out to Dray. Dray looked at the young man straight in the eye and shook his hand once. His hand was soft because he hardly engaged in short ranged combat except when he needed to so definitely his hand would seem soft like those of a civilian. Dray withdrew his hand not long after. Introductions were for later. “Well, then enough with the formalities. Let’s head off. We can talk while we walk. Plus, we should take advantage of the rain; it reduces the enemy’s sight, and helps shroud our presence.” the boy said again to Dray. “lets go then.” Dray responded as the two started their mission. The information the mission gave was that the bandits were gathering on the outskirts of the village and this only meant that they had probably made camp somewhere around there. Dray was not new to the way bandits operated besides this was his second bandit mission. His first bandit mission was assigned to him immediately after he returned from an escort mission. He was in such a bad mood that when he got to the bandit’s camp, he was pissed off more. The mission stated that he should deal with those that ran the bandit camp and the others would flee but his mind was block due to his anger personality in action. All he did was summon Fisk- his giant blue flaming tiger and justice was done to the bandits.
The would keep walking and climb unto a slope if they followed the same path. Dray would motion to Zen that they should crouch as he would point to him the bandit’s camp if he had not seen it before then. The camp was only about twenty meters away and there were a few scanty bandits around it. “This is it Zen. The boss should be inside that red tent. Anybody who gets a chance first should go for him. Agreed?” Dray would ask Zen. He knew he had a good chance against the boss of the bandits but he did not know what Zen himself was capable of so he was not going to underestimate him. Immediately Zen replied, both men would head for the camp.

The shinobi shook his hand. Zenkichi could feel that the boy's hand was very soft. This shows that the boy was the type that would fight from afar, a different fighting style from the Zenkichi's. Zenkichi's hand was hard and rough, due to all the taijutsu he has been doing. This would be advantageous, as Zenkichi and the boy's forte are both different, allowing a much more different and volatile fighting style.

As he suggested to continue on forward, the boy agreed and they both left the gates, and walked towards their destination; the bandit's camp. It was stated in the scroll that the bandits were having a small encampment on the outskirts. Zenkichi could deduce that through the camp had to be near the village, as the pillaging was done quickly, as if the bandits knew the place well. Therefore, Zenkichi looked with the boy for the bandit's camp. They continued on at the same path, hoping to find some clues, though it would be tough or nearly impossible under the rain.

Zenkichi continued on with the boy, until they reached a slope. The boy motioned Zen to crouch. Zenkichi did so, as he knew that standing now would be a bad move, as he would be revealing his position to all his enemies. He'd rather crouch and take advantage of this vantage point while continue to be hidden. Soon, as they reached the end of the slope, they could catch sight of the camp, only twenty meters away. Zenkichi could see the camp was being patrolled by several goons. In the middle of the dull brown camps was a red tent, which most probably is the treasury, or the boss' tent. Hearing Dray's strategy, Zenkichi replied, saying, "Alright. But, can you create an opening for me? I'll take out the boss quickly, as long as you create the opening. Once you've done that, just give me a signal or shout my name. I'll be sure to head off to the boss, having faith that you'll be able to watch my back. Ok?"

After saying this, both Zenkichi and the boy headed off to the camp.

Zenkichi crouched as Dray told him all these. He also agreed to what Dray had said as they both discussed their line of action. “Alright. But, can you create an opening for me? I’ll take out the boss quickly, as long as you create the opening. Once you’ve done that, just give me a signal or shout my name. I’ll be sure to head off to the boss, having faith that you’ll be able to watch my back. Ok?” Dray nodded to Zenkichi. “Fine, once you see a bright light in the sky, know that it is done and you can go for the boss. I’ll make sure to clear the way.” With all these being said, Dray would fade away using the effect of his crystal armor. He would become invisible to anyone and everyone. Dray would rush towards the bandit camp at his top speed. Seeing among six scruffy looking bandits guarding the camp, Dray would form the hand seals for the crystal release: hexagonal crystals as six sharp looking hexagonal shaped crystals would form from the air and hurl towards the bandits at blinding speeds. Their mere human eyes would not be able to trace this and neither would they have the speed to react. The shurikens would slice through the clone clean before disintegrating at Dray’s will. Six down, how many more to go. Once this was done, Dray would form a dagger of crystal and throw it up high in the air as the dagger would shatter to form a bright light that would signal Zenkichi that all the bandits were dead and he could come for the bandit boss. Dray knew he had not killed all the bandits yet but it would not be long now because by the time Zenkichi got here, Dray would have completed his part. Dray would continue into the camp and from the seal on his right palm, four fuuma shurikens with explosive tags on them would head for the oncoming shinobi. They would manage to dodge this but then the shurikens would explode in their numbers and create a greater explosion that would engulf most of the camp with Dray being safe. Dray would wait on Zenkichi to arrive and complete the mission.
